• A thin flap of corneal tissue is folded back from the front of the eye using an excimer laser.
• The cornea is precisely shaped with a laser by removing tiny amounts of corneal tissue.
• The protective flap is folded back over the cornea and bonds without stitches.

And that’s it! The LASIK procedure takes about 15 minutes to complete and patients may begin enjoying improved vision the following day or sooner.

Dr. Stainer has been involved with refractive surgery since he began his Corneal Fellowship at the University of California, San Diego in 1980.
